The Equity Release Summit is taking place on 23 May 2024 at Church House, Westminster. Organised by the Equity Release Council, the event is being promoted as ‘The landmark event in the later life lending calendar’.
The Equity Release Summit will bring together stakeholders from across the equity release sector and the wider financial services world, including financial and mortgage advisers, solicitors and funders. It is also expected to attract key influencers, from journalists, ministers and MPs, to regulators, civil servants and consumer champions.
There will be 11 different sessions across two different workstreams: ‘Leadership and Strategy’ and ‘Equity release in Action’.
Mindful of the challenges currently facing the industry, there will also be three plenary sessions focused on these challenges. They will cover trust and reputation in the equity release sector, gender disparities in retirement, and product innovation to meet evolving consumer needs.
The lead sponsor for the summit is Adlington Law, the first time that a legal services provider has headed up sponsorship of the event. The firm’s Managing Director, Carol Nuttall, will host a session looking at how the sector can continue to improve the standard of legal advice offered to equity release customers.
Jim Boyd, CEO of the Equity Release Council, said: “We look forward to welcoming members of the later life lending industry to this event which will provide an invaluable opportunity to network, learn from experts and build a better understanding of how we can work together to deliver good customer outcomes.”
